TEXAZ Grill is a long time Central Phoenix favorite for folks from all walks of life. This is one special place to dine on a superior steak prepared with great care. Take a look around TEXAZ Grill and you will see an amazing collection of unique decorations including historic signs, Texas memorabilia, vintage advertisements and a Juke Box full of 45’s by native born Texans.
Founded as Lone Star Steaks, TEXAZ Grill had to fight a David and Goliath style battle regarding the original name. While they may have given up the Lone Star name to a corporate chain, they kept on with the dedication to unmatched excellence in the most important area for a restaurant - FOOD. Owner Steve Freidkin and many of his staff have attended Beef 101 at Texas A&M, and have been well educated beyond the kitchen when it comes to beef. A wonderful steak begins far before it hits the grill and the staff at TEXAZ Grill know exactly how to make that work to the advantage of their customers.
Although TEXAZ Grill is known for the famed Chicken Fried Steak so big you’ll have two meals, they also serve a wide range of fresh foods. Carefully cooked, high quality chicken, steak, shrimp, prime rib, pork chops and catfish populate the menu at TEXAZ Grill. The shrimp are #1 Mexicans - the best shrimp you can get. The delicious steaks are USDA Choice, perfectly aged and hand cut in house and you will know it on sight when you take your first bite. What you will not experience is the sticker shock like most steak houses. TEXAZ Grill gives a real bang for the buck.
Let’s talk Texas for a minute. Texas has inspired people to do things big and with a lot of pride. That attitude is obvious at TEXAZ Grill. They offer two Texas Vodkas (Tito’s Vodka and Dripping Springs Vodka), a 100% Organic Tequila called Republic Tequila (quite nice), and even a Texas wine. BBQ is another Lone Star State point of pride, so TEXAZ Grill is sure to please you with BBQ three nights a week and every day at lunch time.
For one of the featured lunch specials on Friday, we migrate Eastward to Louisiana traditions to enjoy some Cajun dishes you might find like Jambalaya, Shrimp Etouffee and Pecan Crusted Catfish. One supper menu standout is the “must have” Smoked Prime Rib available daily after 4 pm. Just being honest with you, it may take a half dozen visits to get through all of the incredible specialties in order to find you own favorite.
Finish off your meal with Blue Bell Ice Cream or any of their house made desserts and you will head home a happy camper.
To sum it up TEXAZ Grill is Central Phoenix’s favorite for heaping helpings of Texas home cookin’.
